Privacy & Data Handling
How WakeUp / ShieldX treats the information you share when you ask about briefs and frontline protection.
1. Who we are
WakeUp / ShieldX is a Hong Kong–registered entity with manufacturing in China. We operate the wakeupbulletproof.com and related sites to offer frontline risk briefs and protection guidance to organisations who actually deploy people into conflict and CBRN-relevant environments.
2. What data we collect
We collect and process the information you choose to share with us, for example when you:
- Submit a contact or briefing request form on our website;
- Request a sample risk brief or a tailored version;
- Write to us directly by email.
This typically includes:
- Name and organisation;
- Work email address and role;
- A short description of your footprint (locations, routes, types of deployments);
- What you are interested in (sample brief, tailored brief, potential kit standards);
- Rough timelines for your decisions.
3. Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Understand whether our work is a good fit for your organisation and footprint;
- Respond to your request for a sample brief or tailored work;
- Scope potential engagements (coverage, update frequency, pricing);
- Maintain basic records of who we are in contact with, for duty-of-care and conflict-of-interest reasons.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your footprint as marketing material.
4. How we store and protect your data
Contact form submissions are delivered to us by email and may be stored in our email system and internal records. Our websites are hosted on modern infrastructure with standard security controls (for example Cloudflare services).
We treat your footprint, routes and internal policies as sensitive by default. Access to that information is kept to the minimum number of people required to respond to your request or deliver agreed work.
5. Third-party services
We may use third-party services for form handling, analytics, and infrastructure (for example email providers, form processors, website hosting, or DDoS protection). These providers act as data processors on our behalf.
Where we use such services, we aim to select reputable providers with appropriate security practices. We do not grant them the right to use your data for their own marketing.
6. Data retention
We keep contact records for as long as they are reasonably needed to:
- Respond to your request and manage any ongoing engagement; and
- Document the context of past briefs or advice, where relevant to duty-of-care and legal defensibility.
If you have not engaged with us for an extended period and there is no clear reason to retain your details, we may delete or anonymise them as part of routine housekeeping.
7. Your choices
You can:
- Ask us what data we hold about you in our contact records;
- Ask us to correct inaccurate details; or
- Ask us to stop contacting you and, where appropriate, delete or minimise your contact record.
To do so, write to hello@wakeupbulletproof.com from your work email address. For security reasons, we may take steps to verify that the request comes from you or an authorised person.
8. Cross-border considerations
Because we operate from Hong Kong with manufacturing in China and may use infrastructure in other jurisdictions, your data may be processed or stored outside the country you are based in. We only work in jurisdictions where we can legally and ethically stand behind what we provide.
9. Updates to this notice
We may update this privacy notice occasionally to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. When we do, we will update the date at the bottom of this page.
